Thank you for volunteering to be a judge for the 2017 Thurgood Marshall Memorial Moot Court Competition!


If you are no longer able to volunteer, please notify Jane Zaretskie as soon as possible.

Preliminary Round Judges – Thursday, March 16
Arrival Time: 5:15 p.m. (please allow extra time to go through security)
Judges Dinner: 5:30 p.m. in the Juror’s Lounge

500 Indiana Avenue, NW, at the corner of 5th Street, NW and Indiana Avenue

The Courthouse is accessible via the Metrorail Red Line Judiciary Square Station (once in the station, take the exit marked "D.C. Courthouses" for the Moultrie Courthouse). In addition, the Archives/Navy Memorial Station on the Yellow and Green Line and the Gallery Place/Chinatown station on the Yellow Line, Green Line and Red Line Lines are within walking distance.

Arrival Instructions:
Please arrive by 5:15 p.m. and report to the 3rd floor, outside Juror's Lounge 3100, where you will check in and receive a packet of materials, including: scoresheet, name badge, copy of the brief, schedule, chart with room assignments, and instructions. After checking in, you will be directed to the dinner in the Juror’s Lounge.

Adine Momoh will provide you with instructions at the end of the dinner.

Round 1 of the preliminary oral arguments begins at 6:15 p.m and ends at 7:30 p.m.

Round 2 of the preliminary oral arguments begins at 7:45 p.m and ends at 9:00 p.m.

“Round of 16” Judges – Friday, March 17
Arrival Time: 8:00 a.m. (please allow extra time to go through security)

The U.S. Court of Federal Claims is located on Madison Place between Pennsylvania Avenue and H Street, NW, on the east side of Lafayette Square across from the White House, in downtown Washington, D.C. The Blue Line, Orange Line, and Silver Line stop at the Metrorail McPherson Square Station. Follow the exit signs toward the White House. At street level, go left at the top of the escalators to Vermont Avenue and turn right, in the direction of H Street. Cross H Street, where Vermont Avenue becomes Madison Place. The National Courts Building's main entrance is mid-block on Madison Place on the left side of the street.

After you go through security, go back out to courtyard, down the steps to the right, and enter Tayloe Living via the door on your left. Report to the Registration Desk in the lobby of Tayloe Living, where you will check in and receive a packet of materials, including: scoresheet, name badge, copy of the brief, schedule, chart with room assignments, and instructions. After checking in, you will be directed to the Judge’s breakfast.

Oral arguments will take place from 9:00 a.m.-10:30 a.m. and again from 10:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

Quarterfinal Judges – Friday, March 17
Arrival Time: 12:00 p.m. (please allow extra time to go through security)
