The Law Student Lounge Call for Articles
The Federal Bar Association is accepting articles for the next issue of The Law Student Lounge (expected release June 2016). We invite all federal judges, federal practitioners, law professors, and law students to submit articles in The Lounge. Articles should be less than 1500 words, following the Writers Guidelines of The Federal Lawyer. The Lounge typically accepts articles in the following categories, but if you have an idea for an article, please contact Lounge Co-Editors, Nia Chung Srodoski or Tony Graber to discuss. The categories are:

  • A Message from the National Leadership of the FBA: The Lounge will bring you a message from the national leadership of the FBA.
  • Articles: We invite students to submit articles on a law student issue you find interesting. In addition, each edition will have “The First Job,” which provides an overview of a typical first job in the legal
  • Developing Fields: This is your opportunity to summarize opinions of interest from the federal circuits. These should be a short synopsis (250-500 words) about recent decisions and opinions. If you have found an opinion you find interesting, please share it!
  • Law Professor Profile: We all have a favorite professor—here is your chance to tell us about him or her. A “Law Professor Profile” should highlight your professor’s career and accomplishments in less than 1000 words.
  • Getting to Know Your FBA: There are many sections and division in the FBA. Which one should you join? This will help. In each edition of The Lounge, a leader from an FBA division or section will provide an overview of their division or section to help you discover other parts of the
  • Law Student Division Round-Up: Tell everyone what your school’s Division has done! Divisions can submit short summaries of their activities.
  • Upcoming Events: In each edition, The Lounge will update you about upcoming FBA events (including your own!) so you can network, learn, and get involved in the FBA. Submit your event here.
