The U.S. District Court for the District of Utah, Utah Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, and the Young Lawyers Division of the Utah State Bar, invite you to attend the Help RISE CLE event on November 28, 2017, from 9:10 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., in the 2nd floor conference room at the federal court. This award winning program provides volunteer attorneys with the opportunity to assist participants in the District Court's drug, behavioral health and diversion court programs, collectively known as RISE - Reentry Independence through Sustainable Efforts - by providing them with pro bono legal representation in the three civil areas of law most likely to affect them - bankruptcy, family law, and landlord/tenant law. This event will provide you with all of the training you need in order to qualify as a volunteer attorney for this exciting pro bono program. All volunteer attorneys for the Help RISE program will be covered by the Utah State Bar's malpractice insurance policy. In addition, those new to the Bar, will be assigned a mentor attorney who practices in the area of law relevant to their assigned case. Breakfast and boxed lunches will be provided. You will also receive 6 hours of CLE at NO COST if you agree to accept a pro bono referral from the RISE program.
