May 2012 Bankers Club Luncheon

May 2012 Bankers Club Luncheon

Each year, the Federal Bar Association's South Florida Chapter hosts luncheons at Bankers Club in downtown Miami in January, March, April, May, October, and November. This month's speaker was the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeal's newest member, Judge Adalberto Jordan. Prior to his appointment to the Eleventh Circuit in February 2012, Judge Jordan served as a District Judge in the Southern District of Florida for over twelve years. On May 9, 2012, Judge Jordan helped to set a new attendance record for a monthly luncheon with 164 guests in attendance.

Among those in attendance were Eleventh Circuit Judge Stanley Marcus and several of Judge Jordan's former colleagues from the Southern District, including Chief Judge Moreno. Lawyers in attendance were given the opportunity to ask Judge Jordan questions. Judge Jordan ably fielded questions on a broad spectrum of topics, including questions about his perspective on the appointment and confirmation process and his views on the relevance of diversity on the bench and the usefulness of attorney voir dire.

Thank you, Judge Jordan, for making this month's lunch our largest ever.
