The mission of the Federal Bar Association is “to strengthen the federal legal system and administration of justice by serving the interests and the needs of the federal practitioner, both public and private, the federal judiciary and the public they serve.” The Oklahoma City Chapter, founded in the 1960s and revitalized in the 1990s, is committed to the mission of the Federal Bar Association. The Oklahoma City Chapter boasts over 500 members, making it one of the largest chapters in the Federal Bar Association. The Chapter frequently sponsors CLE seminars on topics devoted to federal practice, provides formal and informal opportunities for exchanges between lawyers and federal judges, assures that pro se civil litigants receive representation for meritorious claims, hosts a new admittee program for young lawyers entering federal practice, in addition to a range of other services. One of the Chapters most significant recent accomplishments is the founding of the annual Holloway Lecture Series, in honor of the Honorable William J. Holloway, Jr., Senior Judge, Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals and The William J. Holloway, Jr. Scholarship Program, Inc., a 501(c)(3) that awards scholarships to outstanding law students from Oklahoma City University School of Law and the University of Oklahoma College of Law.
