Immigration Law or Rhetoric?

Join the New Orleans Chapter of the FBA and the Immigration Law Section of the Louisiana State Bar Association for a free CLE on July 25th, 3:00-4:30pm. This hour and a half CLE will feature a legal discussion of immigration law, executive authority, and trends in application and interpretation of the law by agencies and courts. The discussion will include topics such as criminal prosecutions at the southern border, immigration detention, the legal implication of “zero tolerance”, and proposal for the creation of an Article I Immigration Court. There will be a focus on how national trends impact Louisiana and the legal needs of our community. Individuals from local organizations will also provide information on how individuals can volunteer in the area to meet the legal needs of our community.

Speakers: Speakers include former professor of Immigration Law at LSU, Kenneth Mayeaux (Mayeaux Sardi), and chair of the Immigration Law Section of the LSBA, Kathleen Gasparian (Gasparian Spivey Immigration).
