The American Bar Association (ABA) selected the Minnesota Chapter of the FBA to receive the 2011 Harrison Tweed Award, one of the ABA’s most prestigious honors, for the Pro Se Project. The Harrison Tweed Award was created in 1956 to recognize the extraordinary achievements of bar associations in creating access to justice for the poor, and is the ABA's highest award in the legal services category. The receipt of the Harrison Tweed Award is a testament to this Chapter’s exemplary work, coordinated effort, and leadership in our federal system, and is a well-deserved accolade for this Chapter’s commendable work in creating access to justice for the poor.
