The federal district court in Massachusetts is launching two new programs.
On October 17, the district court became one of fourteen nationally that is participating in a three-year pilot project to study the use of cameras in the courtroom for civil trials. Details about the program are available here.
The federal district court is also testing a new electronic system called JERS, which allows evidence admitted during trial to be viewed by the jury in the deliberation room upon the conclusion of trial. Details about the program are available here.
