Lafayette Acadiana Chapter Calendar

The Lafayette/Acadiana Chapter sponsors topical CLE seminars that are held in Lafayette's federal courthouse.  Federal judges, law clerks, and other court personnel attend along with practitioners and participate in instruction and post-seminar receptions.  Past seminar topics have covered federal practice and procedure, federal legislation, bankruptcy, oil & gas, electronic discovery, and employment law, among others.

The cost of attending any seminar usually includes the cost of membership to the FBA and the Chapter.

The Chapter's signature seminar is the Judge John M. Shaw Civility and Ethics CLE Seminar, which is held each December and followed by a festive cocktail reception to which all seminar attendees and honorees as well as all Chapter members are invited and encouraged to attend.

The Chapter is developing a Younger Lawyer Section and leadership opportunities abound.

Lawyers interested in membership are invited and encouraged to contact the Lafayette/Acadiana Chapter President. The cost of attending any seminar usually includes the cost of membership to the FBA and the Chapter.
