Law Day, Virginia Beach • May 2, 2013

The Virginia Beach Bar Foundation and the Tidewater Chapter of the Federal Bar Association co-sponsored Law Day 2013 on May 2, 2013 at the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts, Virginia Beach, VA. The theme of the program was “Eroding and Restoring the Rule of Law – from Hitler’s Decree to the Nuremberg Trial. The national Federal Bar Association President, Robert DeSousa, traveled from Pennsylvania to attend the Law Day event and support the local chapter in its collaborative effort with other bar associations and community organizations. The evening opened with a showing of the exhibit, “Lawyers without Rights: Jewish Lawyers in Germany under the Third Reich,” which was created by the German Federal Bar.

The panelists for the program discussion were: Sandra Schulberg, of Schulberg Productions and U.S. District Judge Henry Coke Morgan, Jr. Susan Blackman, Esq., of Willcox & Savage, P.C., served as moderator.

Mark Slaughter, Esq., Chair of the Virginia Beach Bar Foundation, welcomed the guests and thanked the many sponsors and community organizations that supported this event.

The event attracted approximately 350 members of the Bar and the community.
